Personal Information
When you create an account via email/password or Google Sign-In, we may collect:
Your name
Email address
Profile picture (if provided or from Google account)

Audio Recordings
When you use the recording feature, we collect audio recordings captured through your device's microphone, along with recording metadata (title, duration, timestamp).
Audio stays on your device. Recordings are stored locally only and are never uploaded to our servers or any cloud storage.
AI-Generated Content
When recordings are processed, the following data is generated and stored locally in an encrypted database and synced to the cloud:
Transcriptions (speech-to-text conversions)
AI-generated summaries of your recordings
Extracted action items and tasks
Key insights and next steps
Bookmark and task completion states
Automatically Collected
Device type and operating system
App usage and crash data (via Firebase Crashlytics)

How We Use Your Information

When you initiate transcription, audio is sent to AssemblyAI; the resulting transcript is then sent to Google Gemini API for analysis.

Data Storage & Security
We take your data security seriously and implement the following measures:
Local storage: Audio recordings and app data are stored on your device in an encrypted SQLite database (SQLCipher encryption).
Cloud storage: Transcripts, summaries, and metadata are synced to Google Firebase Firestore for backup and cross-device access. Audio files are never uploaded to the cloud.
Authentication: User accounts are secured through Firebase Authentication with support for email/password and Google OAuth.
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Section 05
Data Retention
We retain your personal information and recording data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data, transcripts, summaries, and all cloud-stored data within 30 days, except where required by law.
Locally stored audio recordings on your device are not automatically deleted when your account is removed. You can manually delete these files at any time.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your Audia account and all associated data using either of the following methods:
Option 1 — Delete Directly In the App Recommended
Open Audia → Profile → Delete Account. Confirm your identity and all your data — recordings, transcripts, summaries, and your account — will be permanently deleted immediately.
Option 2 — Submit a Web Request
Alternatively, submit a deletion request through our website. Data will be removed within 30 days.
Audia is developed by Handysolver, an independent developer. Account deletion requests sent via email are handled personally and typically processed within 7 business days, with full data removal completed within 30 days.

Microphone & Photo Library Access
Microphone: Audia requires microphone access to record audio. The microphone is only activated when you explicitly start a recording session. We do not record audio in the background without your knowledge.
Photo Library: Audia requests access to your photo library solely for selecting a profile picture. No other photos are accessed or collected.

Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
